Kitchen design & build

Moera in Matte

Project overview

Our intent for this kitchen was to create a flow between rooms. Our client was sick of having no space to host gatherings and a closed-off cramped kitchen that made him “not want to cook in”

Our designers took on this task and together came up with the idea to remove the wall separating the kitchen and living areas. The previous kitchen was tight for space allowing room for 1 when cooking. This allowed the design to have an island with an overhang for people to chill while meals were being prepared. We’ve added a 12mm negative under the 20mm stone benchtop to create an elegant floating look while putting in 100mm thick slab ends in contrast. As a smaller kitchen having as much storage space as possible was vital. We added 550mm draws and a space tower pantry giving easy access to everything while maximizing storage space. Putting the oven and panty on one side and the fridge on the other creates a symmetrical look which is very aesthetically pleasing and gives the area for a coffee bamboo feature cabinet that really stands out. Going for PTO overhead cabinets and 30mm pulls on the base cabinets for a handless, flawless kitchen.

"We had a variety of different kitchen companies come through to give us a quote. Everyone except JB Kitchens came back with the same design of replacing old with new. These guys took the time to think about the design and by removing a wall made the kitchen seamlessly flow through into our living area. So nice working with a team that cared, very rare to come by. Thank you so much for our new kitchen, we couldn’t be happier."
